Small Animal Sculptures

Planning- I looked up tiny animals on pintrest and found inspo pics to reference. I made the cat fatter than the inspo and the octopie smaller.

Construction- Octopus were made from very small pinch pots. I cut chunks out of the edges to make the legs.

Cat was also a pinch pot and i pinched to bottom to create the head shape. Ears and tail were slipped on

Reflection- I love making animals. I need to find a new technique for octopus legs. It was very hard to make them perfect and similar sizes. In the future, i will look up some strategies. My cat went great and was very easy. It is my favorite one out of the 3.

Pinch Pot cut in Half

Planning- I had made pinch pots before so I kinda knew what to do. We went over it in class and saw how to.

Construction- I started with a ball then stuck my finger into it. I pushed the clay out and up with my fingers to make the pot shape.

Reflection- I love making pinch pots they are so much fun. I need to work on making the middle more even. The wire cutter is very weird to use too i cant do it perfect. I will look it up. I just need to make the middle of the pot better. Not fired because i didn't want it.

Pinch Pot- something usefull

Planning- While looking for inspo on pintrest I saw a mug like this but a bear. I wanted to do a dinosaur because I love them. I looked up dinosaur mug and saw somthing similar to this but too complicated so i made it simple.

Construction- I started by making a pinch pot as the base and shaped it in an oval on one side. I then made the head and hollowed it out, I scored and slipped it onto the pot, then slipped a tail and feet on. I carved the face last.

Reflection- UNFINISHED STILL WORKING ON IT- waiting to fire rn

Planning- I liked the two tones ones i was seeing on pintrest so i decides to do something like that. I saw one with a million lines so decided to do something simpler.
